Enviro EF2-I FRUSTRATION!!!

The pellets keep running over the top of the burn box. The flame is huge, air is all the way out but they keep filling up the box and running over. I don't dare to leave it alone.

Any ideas? We're not getting anywhere with the dealer at all.....

We've done just about everything. The dealer was out once and said that the drawer wasn't closed all the way and that was causing trouble. It did work better after but it really hadn't been that cold either. Once it got colder and it needed to be turned up it started to run over again. This stove is in a 14 ft. mobile home. We were told that the heat would blow you out of the place. That is not happening. We're afraid to leave it running because the hot pellets drop down in to the drawer below and catch on fire.

If you turn it up to the 3:00 range the trouble begins. Big flame though!! We turned it back to 12:00 and it was burning the pellets up in the burn pot but it's impossible to be there to babysit this thing all the time. Is this normal for this stove?

We thought maybe it was the pellets so I put a bag of Lignetics in it and they were worse!! It seems like it's feeding too many pellets out on the higher setting?????

The flame is big, but is it lazy and tall, or more torch like? they should feed more on higher settings, but if the flame is big they should be burning.

The flame is big and it is burning the pellets, thus the big flame, but the burn pot is filling up after about 6 hours and the pellets start to run over the top. My Big E doesn't do that at all...Big flame and it's burning the pellets up just fine.

Is it possible that the auger feed is off in the Enviro?

Just a quick question, Do you have outside air installed?

The MINI has a trim feature only on the lowest setting. I have to use on the slowest auger setting when using on setting 1 or the pellets drop to fast, smother the fire and over fill the pot. Any other setting (2-5) runs like a champ.

Strange that the fire burns high and right but still over feels the pot. I have the outside air on mine, but I don’t have any vert on my piping so that’s why I made sure to add it.

I have an EF-2 Free Standing. I love it.

It is 24 degrees F out this morning. The living room (stove room) is a comfortable 70 degrees.
Current settings are:
Mode--------------Auto
Dial a fire --------12:30 position
Blower Speed--- 10:00 position
Slide Damper----1/2 way out.

Flame is running about 5" above burnpot. The flame is clean and active. The unburned pellets are just starting to dance in the burnpot.

Heat is pumping into the room.

In the past I have had adjustment problems with the ashpan not being sealed to the bottom of stove.
This allows excess air to leak into the firebox.

Also I had a bad combustion blower.

The combustion blower(one on the left of the stove) runs at a constant speed and draws exhaust gasses from the fire box.
If it is running slow or the vent is not sufficient you could have an exhaust flow problem.

Another area of concern would be your outside air supply. In a mobile home I believe it is mandatory to have an outside air supply.
If that source is blocked/compromised you would have a bad burn happening.

Additionally......read your owners manual. Make sure your stove is installed and connected like the manufacturer suggests.

If your stove is installed correctly. And all blowers are running correctly. You should be getting plenty of heat.

Is this a Brand new stove i assume? i've gone thru a month of Hell with the auger timer on my used EF3.Wasn,t getting enough pellets to stay running,after bumping up to aaan updated 3 sec timer, all probs have been solved and couldn,t be happier with the stove,although a bit bigger would have been nice.Maybe you need my old 1 sec timer to slow the feed rate.lol..Good luck,they can be aggravating when not working proper.

How would we be able to tell if the outside air was installed?

If You have outside air there should be a second section of tube running to the outside, It connects to the bottom center of the rear of the stove and is approx. 1 1/2 inch in diameter.

No, they did not install the outside air. There is a 1 1/2 inch thing coming off the back of the stove but it doesn't go out through the wall. Would that cause this sort of trouble?

Outside air is a required setup in a mobile home, call your dealer and demand it be installed.
however for now try cracking a window near the stove and see if this fixes your stoves flame characteristics.
Mobile homes are usually built very tight and your stove cant get enough combustion air.

Well, we had a pellet stove service man come out yesterday instead of the flunkies that sold us our stove. He checked the stove over and couldn't seem to find anything wrong inside so he went outside to check the pipe out there. He brought the end of it inside to show me how much stuff had built up on the end of it which was not allowing any air to get to the stove. When that part of the pipe was installed it had a grate like thing put on the end of it to keep critters out but he said that he's seen that cause more trouble than anything else with stoves and he took it off....The stove is running like a dream right now Hopefully things will keep going well and my mom will stay nice and warm now...

Outside air is a required setup in a mobile home..

Andy is correct. I would call the dealer and get them
out there to do it right. You paid to have it done right
and the OA is required for mobile home installs.
This information should be in your manual if you want
to show the dealer.
