I am in the market for a pellet stove insert and really like the modern European designs but they don't seem available in the US. Does anyone know why they are not sold here? Alternatively, does anyone have suggestions for manufacturers that have more modern/streamlined designs that don't look like your grandmother's wood stove?
Thanks

If you thought the price of a Harman stove is high, the price on those imports have about as much chance as having a Lambo in every home. The price on Ecoteck units start pretty high and go up. I picked up a nice Elena(MSRP 6k?) and while its a nice stove I think the average American consumer can only handle what is here now. Designs are limited by our laws too. Bosca had a neat design(gone too)

Piazzetta, MCZ (Wittus), Ecoteck Ravelli, etc. manufacturer pellet stoves in modern styles. Unfortunately, all of them are free standing units, not inserts. Many German and Austrian products don't find their way into the USA... Still many of their offerings are free standing stoves or pellet boilers. Austroflamm Rika made a modern looking insert for many years, but may be discontinued or, at least, no longer imported.

I prefer a modern looking pellet stove too. When I was shopping for products a couple of years ago, I ruled out most of the European brands, as competent dealers/installers with parts and experience did not exist in my area. Service and support is key when considering a pellet stove purchase!

Good luck with the search. I hope you find something that checks all the boxes!

Something to consider - (broken link removed to http://m.ebay.com/itm?itemId=171104476844)

Correction - MCZ manufactures inserts, but those models are not imported
