Most interesting bullet point

  • The Nordics continue to lead Europe in the transition to electric mobility, with 96.82% of newly registered cars in Norway now fully electric.
Dude! That rounds to almost every new car in Norway is electric!! It’s cold there and yet they still work!!

LOL Watching a perpetual fireplace video while sipping aquavit. :)

One has to wonder how long before AI and robots make this the norm here.

Looks like it's not just Europe. South America is adopting EVs too.

There's some interesting data in this report. Note that hybrids are included with BEVs in some sections, like total sales of EVs.

Frustrating sets of stats and percentages. I honed in on the number of new BEV registrations per 100k population figure by country.

If we assume the % BEV new car sales in the US is 10% in 2025, that works out to 490 BEV sales per 100k population. Compared to EU, this puts us in the same range as Germany and the UK.

I think this implies that in the US we buy a lot more cars per capita than EU folks.
