Excel chimney… extra part?

Hi Everyone,

I'm just about finished installing my excel chimney and I have a piece that came with the radiation shield which i can't seem to find any place for. it doesn't fit in/on/around the radiation shield and I can't find any mention of it in the instructions. I've attached a photo if anyone can identify this, please help.
