I installed an outside air intake kit on my Hearthstone castleton 1. The problem is I can't fit the lower supplemental heat shield back on because the outside air intake is in the way. It looks like there's a punch out in heat shield that I could knock out and then it would fit around it, but I can't find any instructions regarding if that is the right thing to do. I attached a couple pictures. Sorry they're not the best. Any ideas? The first picture is the heat shield and you can kind of see the cutout. Second two picture are looking underneath with the front of the heat shield installed, but the bottom of it on the ground you can see how the outside air intake is in the way.

It looks like its an area to be removed if needed (in the shield). Its not addressed at all either in the heat shield instructions or the air kit instructions? If not, I'd reach out to Hearthstone Tech and get the correct info. Good luck with her, Castleton is a nice stove.
