We recently moved into a new house that has a FHP geothermal heat pump. I have been looking for the filter and can not find one. I looked at the info that came with it and had no luck. When I open it up, the air return enters by a large radiator grate looking part - not a filter. Is it possible that it does not have a filter?

By the way, We love this unit. Our electric bills were low this summer and our house stayed cool. I am waiting to see how it does this winter with heating.

Concho, look closely at the unit where the return air duct connects to it....on most units there is a tall, narrow door or slot that gives access to the air filter rack. Also trace all visible return air ductwork in case the installer placed a filter rack in-line there somewhere.Preferably, it should be right at the unit just in front of the air coil.
