I have been watching for a 16-18ft trailer to haul the kubota on for at least a year and last night I saw this one hit for $800. After about an hour of dealing with the guy I finally got him to sell it for $625. It's a 16 ft and I need to replace one of the boards eventually but for right now it doesn't affect me being able to haul my tractor on it with the loader and bushhog attached.

I missed one similar last week, but with two foot sides on it, for $400. Don't need it, but it looked better than mine. I was gonna make some money either way.

Wow, $625?! Hard to find car haulers like that around here for under $2000. Do the brakes work? Even if you had to replace all 4 brake assemblies (about $220) it's a steal. I priced some rough cut oak for trailer decking. 9 2" X 8" - 16' Rough sawn-oak planks was going to run me $350.

Nice! I've been keeping an eye out for something similar but they are extremely hard to find and, when you do find one, they are way overpriced.

Yeah it took me a long time to find one at a decent price for the same reason as above, every time you find one used even in not that great of shape they want $1200-1600 for it. The axles are 3500lb axles and the brakes work great but only one axle has brakes. The wiring was redone on it recently and it all works well and the break away box to lock the brakes up is only about a year old.

Didn't think about putting rough oak on the trailer for flooring.... I was thinking of eventually replacing all the boards with new pressure treated which was going to run about $200.

Check your state laws regarding one axle having brakes. Some states require both/all axles have brakes. Not a big deal to add 'em to the second axle. Buy the backing assemblies, and drum/hub assemblies, bearings, and splice 'em into existing wiring.

Some trailers have true 2" thick planks for decking which is why the rough-sawn. Some decks, depending on how the planks fit, will not accept standard 2x dimensional lumber like PT. If yours will then good for you. With roughly 5,400lbs (Just guessing...) of cargo capacity you won't be testing regular PT pine anyways.

Nice looking trailer for those kind of bean pods. I sold a similar trailer (18ft, superwide) with angle iron sides, ramps and a 10,000 pound winch for $1400 to a friend (exactly what I had into the trailer). No brakes on mine. I found that the trailer was hauling a lot more of other peoples stuff than my own. And since most didn't have a tow vehicle the truck and me went with it. I sold that sucker.

seems a waste to use the trailer to haul a tractor....when you could easily turn it into a...PARADE FLOAT! Way more fun, real conversation starter, and the easy way to end up on local tv news broadcast.

+1 on that. Double axle trailers are not easy to find around here, and nothing that good for less than $1200. You got some stones chewing him down from $800, but I'm the same way! Doesn't feel right till you've haggled a little.
