Hello - I finally got things working again! I did replace the fan limiter switch as the old one was not in good shape. However, my main issue all along was my wiring (sigh). The white wire coming back from the switch was (is) in fact, the switched power and after I wired the main blower to that wire for power and the other to the main 'neutral' white wire, the switch and blower started working.
