Need help folks
Enviro ef2 auger stopped working. Replaced motor but auger still not functioning when rocker switch turned to "manual"
Diagnostic checklist..
1) works via direct power
2) works when I ground to chassis black wire thats connected to vacuum sensor
3) works when I ground to chassis blue wire that's connected to vacuum sensor
4) vacuum hose not clogged
5) dial a fire potentiometer good
6) when I try jumping black/blue connection on vacuum sensor auger doesn't work
7) when I test load pins on timer module it reads constant 120v
Is there any help I can get to verify if issue is timer module or vacuum sensor or is it something else?
Thanks for any help

I didn't dig out any drawings/schematics but in general if the vacuum switch is in series with the auger motor, you should
jumper the terminals of the vacuum switch to test. Then if that works, you would test the vacuum switch.

Welcome to the forum
First, is the stove clean from the fire box to the exhaust termination?
Does the combustion fan work when the stove is started?
The vac. Switch wires are blue and black If you jump them, the auger should work
Have you checked the overheat switch? The red button should be down.
Push it down, see if it clicks down
Here is a manual wiring diagram page 31
Auger motor diagnostics page 29.

I did jump the black/ blue terminals of the vacuum sensor but it didn't cause motor to run. Black comes from auger motor to vacuum sensor & blue goes from vacuum sensor to load terminal of timer module

Johneh
Yes all items u mention are good. Only black/ blue wires to vacuum switch. Never had 2 blues

Sounds like an issue with the dial a fire pot or the timer itself. If that dial a fire is a POT you can test it.
If you have no voltage coming out of the timer module when you expect it, then it could be bad. You
will need a multimeter to test it out. If you are not used to testing 120V with a meter ect then get help.
It does not sound like an issue with the vacuum so far.

What is the build date of your stove?

Hoping it was vacuum sensor since much cheaper than timer. Tested POT dial a fire and it was good. Timer seems to be culprit

It is possible to invent a new timer system, however that would be more of a project.
I have built timers using Omron programmable timer relays ect in the past. Can you still
get the timer and how much? Do you use surge protection?
I wish we had the schematic along with the wiring diagram. Must easier to troubleshoot.
The manual says the voltage on the load terminals of the timer should be 1or 2 volts AC then
go to line voltage to drive the auger.
I am also curious on some of the tests you did taking wires to ground. In most cases that would
blow a fuse. Does your stove still have it's ground?

Can get it. $120 vs $30 for vacuum sensor.
Make sure you really need it by doing more checks. Maybe Johneh can dig out some schematics.
I added more to this post

The above statements do not make sense
Look at the schematic on page 57 of this manual
This manual is the tech's service manual.
Thanks Johneh. I saved that for future reference. On page 56 that is the wiring diagram. That timer should be pretty easy to test though. If you have the supply voltage coming in, and the POT is working, you should get 115V pulses on the load terminals. If the cover comes off maybe you can see inside. Sometimes they hide it though.

Thanks a bunch for tech manual. I need to look at wiring again. There is a discrepancy btwn the unit & schematic. Unit is 1997 so only has control knobs. Back next week to troubleshoot some more.
Appreciate it

If you have a background in this sort of thing you should draw a schematic from the wiring diagram.
Here is a post I found as an example
