We've just been letting the gas furnace run up until now. Tonight it dipped down to -12°C so I lit a fire.

I rebuilt the stove this Summer. New refractory on all 3 sides. New metal airwash screen.

Cleaned the chimney too even though it didn't need it. Not much different than the last time 5 years ago. About a cup of grey ashes was all. Probably could go 10 years between cleanings and then too, it's more to inspect it than clean it.

Welcome back to the burning world. I suspect we'll be joining you soon, but at more like 7::C
