Well i had my first loss with the ethanol fuel. My limbing saw (stihl ms 250), burnt a hole in the piston. Good saw for cutting up limbs. Anyone have a junk one with a good piston and cylinder. Over $400 through Stihl, i can get another new saw for that.

If I couldn't find a replacement for a decent price I'd check out this site:

What would you have to loose? You have the old piston to work with.

If it did not damage the bore above the ports you can just put a new pistion and rings in it about $80

also check e bay for parts.... http://cgi.ebay.com/Stihl-MS-250-chainsaw-good-parts-saw_W0QQitemZ120390789608QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item120390789608&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72:1205|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318|301:1|293:1|294:50

Was it E-10?

Ethanol had nothing to do with it unless you were running E85.
