What do you do?
Some cars have bigger cracks and if the back floor is lower that the back hatch then I build it up with 2x4s and plywood.
I am lucky that the RAV4 back floor is even with the back door so just a nice inexpensive carpet from Home Depot used in boats works just fine for only $17 and a little cutting with a razor knife!

are you saying that this is how you load your firewood when using the suv???? .. personally my vehicles are not that nice.. i just chuck them in and hope for the best...
No, no firewood, I am a pellet burner. I put many tools in the back so it is nice not to have that gap.
 
Oh.. i see............ that crack would be a very good place for the odd screwdriver or such to fall into and never be seen for years... I was confused by what you was describing....

You do a very good job.. Looks great! I have never thought about doing this myself but now I will definitely consider doing this myself when the need arises.
