Hi,

I have read some post on this forum regarding the room sensor and I am curious as to where you all have placed it. Manual suggest to tie wrap to rear intake screen on bottom of the rear sheetmetal enclosure. Have also read some tape to wall behind stove.

Couple of questions: Where is yours placed and how accurate how you found sensor to be with your location of it?

I have mine on the other side of room about 12' from the stove, 5' off the floor. Holds a very steady temp within 1* of set point.

I have mine under the stove. Seems to be working for me. I also have thought if that was the best place for it, but so far so good.

I have mine taped to the back of the stove sticking up about 2" from the top. The installers put it there and said it would work fine. It keeps my house within 5 degrees of what the stove is set at according to my thermostat on my furnace. I think it works fine considering its right next to a very drafty door.

Thanks, So you must have used a different one then the one that came with stove? Mine is only about six feet.

I exteneded the probe with some t-stat wire, per the manual.

I have the accentra insert with the same temp probe. I have mine taped to a speaker about 3' from the stove, about 3'off the floor. Works very well. Here are some things I found trying different things:
* It's imporant that the little fat part at the end of the wire not be touching anything. Needs to be in free air.
* Putting it near the floor is not so good.
* If you have a sunny room, put it where the sun will not shine on it.
* best not to put it where there is a draft when the door opens.

Mine is just laying on the floor near the left side of the stove, it keeps the temp of the room within a degree or so of what I set the stove at. I think it is measuring the temp of the return air going into the stove.
