Thought I saw somewhere where a direct connection for a fresh air intake is not necessary and in fact just having the opening of the fresh air duct "near" the intake may even be better? not?

Anyway, I may be stuck with just placing it near the air intake on my insert. Also, drawing air from the attic, which is my only option. Lots of air up there, ridge vents, good air flow. (Better than nothing I would guess).
