Feeling the Heat

I was so sure that I was done burning for the season I had cleaned everything up and put away all my fireplace stuff. Well we had a cold front come through and I had to light a fire tonight. The stove has been sitting unused for so long now that it has collected some dust and now the house smells like burning dust. I really don't mind Ive been missing the fire.

You started out as if you were upset that you had to light up again and mid point you started to sound jovial. I was starting to wonder about you. LOL. There are summer nights that it gets colder and I just look at the stove and my wife gives me the "Drop it Puppy" look. LOL.

Nate you must have having a major thaw. Probably muddy. Love your state. Im hooked on Alaska The Last Frontier tv show.

Yeah it's getting muddy. Never heard of that show but I don't watch very much TV.

In the last few days we dropped from damn near 90 in the daytime to 50 and cloudy with high twenties and low thirties at night. Thought I was done but it is sitting in there cruising right now.

Midwest will not let go of winter, typing this in a hotel in the middle of Nowhere Neb. on a work trip, roads were too bad to keep driving today.

Here too. Second night in a row burning, and I needed to a couple of nights before that. I'm over it:mad:

My only fear is that it will get warmer today and I will not have a good fire tonight. Sniff:(
However, since I am almost out of this winter's ration, I can live with it.

I was a little upset about having to light up again but as I sat and watched the fire I realized that I cant wait until winter again. It looks like Ill be able to light up again towards the end of the week that might be the last time but who knows. Back in the early 80s there was a blizzard here in May so maybe Ill get some more burn time or maybe not well see.

I was telling my wife the same thing today. i cant wait till its winter again. I am not a fan of the summer heat and mugginess. NY has some nasty humidity in summer.
