Hello!
I am having an issue finding an oval to round connector for my country comfort cc300 stove.
I went to a fireplace store and he sold me the Vermont castings adapter, oval to round, he said with cement gasket it should work.

I got it home and tested it out.... We have gaps close to or over 1/2! This makes me super nervous!

My question if I plug these gaps good with furnace cement, is this ok?? Or should I try to have a welding shop fab a new adapter for me to 6 inch round?

Thank you!

With that much of a gap I think I'd try some 7/8" tape gasket in lieu of furnace cement.
It's about 1/8" thick & can be wrapped on top of itself to build up thickness.

Daksy,
Do you have link to what your talking about? I can only find the rope gasket tape...Is this what you are talking about? I was thinkink it would be something different almost like a silicone type tape?

Thank You for your help!

I would pack that with gasket and furnace cement a bead around the top, just because. The same gasket material I would normally seal a door with
