I just bought a new house with a garrison wood stove and I am completely lost how to use it. There is no damper in the chimney. I am not sure if the wing looking things in the back are supposed to be the air control for inside the box? I only know that this thing burns great if I keep the door open a hair. Can anyone help me?

Tim, Garrison was my first stove, as I was their Landlord for a number of years. It works like any old stove, only the vents are at the top in the rear. Be careful how hot you get it, as they had ton's of issues with warpage on those stoves. Something about the combination of cast iron and sheet metal.
