This fireplace currently has gas logs. Going to disconnect that (put nipple cap on line going to fireplace in basement)...
What do I plug hole in fireplace/hearth floor with (once I remove this pipe)...
Is there a concern for the weight of the wood stove insert? Not sure how to know how much weight this hearth will handle....
I attached some pics....

Thanks!

The fireplace should be built on solid masonry. If it is, then it can handle the weight of any insert. If it isn't, then you're going to have several problems..

That is a fairly short chimney. Look at inserts that will draft ok on a 12' liner.
