I recently bought a house with a Glacier Bay Coal/Wood burning stove. I was told that when burning wood, the plate or baffle inside can be taken out and that it is only needed when burning coal. I was wondering if anyone can confirm this for me. It does not mention it in the manual. Thanks!

Yes, you can remove the front coal plate for burning wood. I have the full color brochure and the pictures even show burning wood without the plate and buring coal with the plate. Hope this helps.
