Has anyone installed a pellet stove in the lower level of a split and gone through the foundation?
if so what did you use?

You don't need a thimble going thru concrete.
Once you have your venting configuration set,
pack the gap between the OD of the vent
& the ID of the cored hole with hydraulic cement & it'll be fine.
You CAN use the thimble if you want, but the added expense of the thimble
PLUS the additional work to core a larger hole probably isn't worth it, IMHO.
