NE Oregon
Hi all. Great information and greatly appreciated. I’m tuning up a Fisher Goldilocks for my shop in NE Oregon and the clean out door underneath has nothing to hold it closed. I have seen reference to wing nuts in the posts. I definitely see some small welding marks near both ends of the hinged clean out door. I suspect damage occurred as previous owner moved the stove around with a forklift. Could anyone please share a picture of what the original closure mechanism and hardware looks like? Thanks, Ashton Burnsmore.

Two 1/4 inch studs at the ends of the door/ flap opening hang down. Washers overlap the door edge with wing nuts to hold the door closed.

If welding isn’t possible, you should be able to drill 2 holes to drop a U bolt down through, so one of the threaded studs close to opening can be used with a washer and nut to hold door closed and the other threaded stud hanging down with nut to hold bolt tight.
