Title says it all. Picked up one of these goodies for this burning season. Wondering what others have used for an alarm set point. I have Selkirk DSP to my Metalbestos connection thimble, so, given the continuous working temperature of DSP is 1200 degrees, I'm thinking high 1100's? My stove is in my central room so I will pretty much hear it no matter where I am in the house.

If measuring probe temp in the DSP pipe I would set it at 950F. If the flue gases are that hot the likelihood is someone left the air open too long. Best to catch that before stove overfire occurs.
