He keeps loading it like that, but the truck refuses to die.

This is only across our small town of like 100 people. I drove about a mile at 25 MPH. So nobody worry about logs rolling g out on an interstate or anything. Still had some daylight under the bump stops. After all this wood is seasoned and dry ;-) I dumped it there almost a year ago!

Wow. That truck is loaded. Good springs in those Fords.
Think how much more you could get in there if it had sides on it

And these are weak tired springs!! The truck squats with a tiny amount of weight. Seriously cause this wood was cut a yr ago it is way lighter than green cut wood, that's how there is so much.

$60 air shocks!! But what I'm thinking is that transfers lots of weight to shock mounts that were never designed to hold that kind of weight. That's the reason I have not put them on yet.

Your thinking is correct, the mounts are not made to support weight.

sorry its been awhile since I bought a set (10 years). and you're right, but a ford ranger was never designed to haul 1000 LB of wood.

Even with 600lbs that's still a lot to transfer a part to the shock mounts.

you're right the right thing to do is get a bigger truck. I add 3 leafs to my 1/2 ton. It still rides nice, but has the ability to tow my 24' camper, and a bobcat.

I have one of these, see pic. But the ranger and trailer will get more in 2 loads for the same price in gas.
