Hello All!

I found the owner off a cleared lot who gave me permission to take all the wood I want. There is some great black locust, I will focus on getting that fast. There is some big pine and huge sycamore, no thanks on those. I also saw some trees I couldn't quickly I'd. I think it is maple, but I am not familiar with maple having a peeling layer under the bark like locust. I took several pics of the tree in question and cut a quick section. Going back Monday with a trailer and full gear to start getting the good. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Cut section was from a large limb but same bark same tree. The main trunk was too big to cut with the small climbing saw I had.

Pictures 4 and 6 looks like poplar. 2, 3, and 5 look like ash first one looks like a maple maybe? Tough to see from that far away.

U might have a couple species in there. Hard to tell when so much is dead and harmless. A couple pics the bark does look like ash. The only thing is that you can see bark missing with no sign of EAB damage. I don't know where u live so maybe they haven't hit there, but most of the Midwest has every ash affected or will be soon.

Here are some pics of what I cut today. I focused on the Black Locust, but there are still some trees I'm unsure of. Thought Ash due to weight, or poplar from bark. Mabe Cherry?

I think Ash or Tulip Poplar. I'd take either one. I'd also take pine. I think pine is great to have when you want to burn up some coals, start a fire, or you need quick heat.
