Quick question for other 52i owners. Had mine since September. The brochure says hopper size is either 47.5, 58 or 64.5 lbs. I thought I was getting the larger hopper, although in reality 2 bags fills it up. Is there a way to tell without sliding the unit out from the fireplace the size of the hopper? Serial number?
Do other owners hopper capacity match the given sizes, or is this a case of "puffery" by Harman?

You should be able to get a measurement from th top of the surround & determine which hopper you have based on these pics...

Ha, Ha, Ha; you are funny. There is not a stove that I have heard of that you can actually fit the poundage they claim. My St. Croix claims 40 pounds and I can't fit 3/4 of a bag in it - and I run the shortest pellets I can find (FSU's). It can fit even fewer longer pellets like Currans.

What size are thos bags? If they are 40 pounders, then you are doing dang good to get 2 bags in a 65 pound hopper!

I saw these measurements in the manual, was trying to avoid pulling the stove out of the zero clearance box.
Ummm. Not to be a PITA but so what? Unless you paid for something you didn't get and plan to confront whomever, you can't stretch the hopper.

You can't figure out where the top of the hopper is?
Measure down from the surround & that will get you close.
You don't have to pull ANYTHING out.

Mine is the 24" depth hopper and it holds about 1.5 40lb. bags. Measured mine when I installed it.

I have the 52i. If I burn down to nothing and refill, I normally put 45-50 lbs in to fill er up. Hope that helps.

I had great results w Turman, but at $300 per ton, they were a little high. I was able to grab the Somersets and would rate them comparably and saved $300 on 5 tons as compared to Turman (bough them all through TSC, but some prebuy, $225/ton and early season, $248/ton, and 1 in season, $260/ton)

Picked mine up in Sept at

picked mine up at Southern States in Sept for $239/ton. I like them, but don't have any thing to compare to them yet.
