Hello

I have been a little frustrated with the Harman OAK flange and trying to get a 3" Selkirk metal flex on it securely and so it can be easily removed! Not quite so simple since the 3" flex does not even fit thru the Harman knock out in the panel because the knock out hole is too small! The harman OAK flange is an odd size with the outside OD almost 2.75 inches!

Since sticking a pipe inside the OAK flange may stop the flapper valve from opening and putting the 3" metal flex over the flange is not only loose but does not fit thru the knock out! ! ! #%$#$%%$#$

So here is what I just found! This adapter will fit snugly over the flange and is easy to clamp down the 3" metal flex on the 2.5 inch side. The best part is that it fits thru the knock out! ! !

Exhaust Pipe Reducer, 2.75 in. ID To 2.5 in. OD, Length 8 in., Aluminized, Each

You can also adapt it down further for 2" flex if needed. :)

Hello St Earl

Yes, Much better, I just timed it.
The stove took 8 minutes from On to Fire, is that a wee bit slow? How long does yours take?

My Ash Door gasket is very old and hard!

8 minutes is still a little bit slow but still within limit. Burn pot gasket ok? Burn pot tightened down solid? How is your hopper seal and fines box cover?

Thanks, I agree it could be better, I will check those too.

I used a silicon intercooler piping coupler on mine and it works like a champ. Seals great, can take high temps and available in any size and even reducers. Held over 40 psi of boost on my car so they are plenty strong.

Tightening the burn pot and tightening the fines cover got it down from 8 mins to 6 mins! ! ! Thanks Scott

Cool
Do you have a link to where we can see and purchase that part?

yea, Don, the original pipe was 2-3/8", and made to fit right INSIDE the nipple. Very soon youre gonna see that nipple go to a 3" pipe and the intake pipe be 3" as well. Much more standard that the original, can find 3" alum flex in most hardware stores. The cutout in the removable panel will also be 3".

Good improvement, I like that!

Dexter,

Ya missed asking what was in that black tank on that lawnmower on the right side of the stove.

I going to move that stuff when I start heating the garage this year. Just to be safe. Thanks

Do you have any more specifics on these 2 parts? Did you purchase them from summitracing.com also? I'm not able to locate these part numbers on their site

Those 2 parts are from the local Auto Parts store. They are Nickerson Muffler adapters and those are the part numbers. :) I believe Summit has them too.
