Harman P61A basement install

I found this stove on Craigslist a couple months ago. Paid $300..gave her a super clean and we are in business!

Pics pretty much speak for themselves.

Should heat my garage/basement well. It's about 1200 sq ft.

The OAK is the galvanized vent to the right of the exhaust.

My son was having fun helping Dad.

Wow. $300 is a STEAL for a P61A. Looks good. I woulda put a Tee in the system where the 90 is at the outside of the wall, for cleaning. I think I'd go a little higher on the outside as well, but that's me...You're gonna love the heat outta that unit when it's needed...

Nice looking install, although I'll bring up a couple of concerns.

First, if that exhaust is 3", the EVL of that system is way over the max allowed before switching to 4" pipe. My quick guestimate has it at about 25 .......(4) 90 elbows =20 all by themselves, and then I'm guessing a total of 10' of vertical pipe = 5.

EDIT: On second glance, that pipe does look to be 4".

Second, is that nozzle end facing up, or is that just the way the pic was taken?

Third, with a basement install, and an OAK of that length, the dia should be increased to 3".

Put a T on that there outside lower elbow and perhaps an interior horizontal T inside for the upper bend and you got yourself an easy cleanout

Yea. I thought about that T after I had ordered all my pipe. I might switch it over.

It's 4" vent pipe and 3" OAK.. The nozzle is pointed up a little. I was trying to get the exhaust away from my heat pump fan. It easily adjustable.

Or just use yard tools to clean my vent. Haha.

May even be "swapping stoves" next season...

I agree on the clean-outs. Unless you intend to just remove the vertical section outside and use a lint eater from there down. Should work well.

OK....looks good! I second Daksy's suggestion about adding a cleanout T in place of the outside lower 90.

Yea. My englander backs up to an interior wall, so using the DT pipe made the install a little easier. It wasn't needed in the basement so I went with the regular pipe.

No, the DT pipe is awesome stuff. I would use it again if needed.

Thanks Dex. But without hearth.com and you guys helping out I would have had a much harder time.
