I have owned a few pellet stoves in my day and was always able to see the auger at the bottom of the pellet hopper. Regarding my new (used) Harmon P68 pellet stove....I cannot see the auger. The auger is covered with a plate. I thought this was for fire safety (when the stove is off the plate would close off and isolate the hopper and when the stove was running the plate would slide out of the way and expose the auger, BUT NOOOOOOOOO, while the stove is running the auger slides back and forth a little bit. Can anyone explain mechanically how the pellets make it to the auger by way of the sliding plate. Also. Any hints on removing the cooked on exhaust fan paddle wheel. Thanks in advance
