Hi Guys,
My Harman PF100 distribution blower motor was making noise and seems to have stopped working completely. The replacement motor part number is 3-20-36648. The motor in the unit is a Dayton 4M177A 1/5 hp. 115V 1050/3 spd. 8.3 amps. 42YZ frame. Grainger is no longer carrying this motor or says it's discontinued with no replacement. Has anyone replaced theirs using motors other than the OE part number or something near to OE ? Grainger's availably lacks in Amps meeting the current 8.3. They show one at 7.0, but I don't want to stress it out too much by putting something in that's inadequate. I can't find any spec information on the OE part number, nor do I know if the Dayton was OE as I'm the second owner of this unit. I've had it 16 years, nor do I know how long they last for in general. I'm waiting on a call back from my local dealer to check availability for a replacement using the Harman part number above.
I haven't tested the thermal switch in the plenum as of yet, but moving it to one side, it does stop the auger feed, so I made an early assumption it was still functioning.
Any suggestions would be appreciated and helpful.
Thanks in advance.
Brian
