Harmon blower noise

I have a Harman P68 that the distribution fan (the fan that blows air into the room) has started to make noise on startup. Looks like I'll need to get one before winter gets here in full force here in VT. I know I can get one from my local dealer but I also know he'll want TOP DOLLAR for one. Any ideas were to get one? And would the old one be rebuildable?

That's the one. It's the same blower as in my Invincible. I bought it at Grainger...no issues.

Yes I know I can't spell very good.....and I went to the dealer as my blower had the dog barking last night when I started the stove. That said......can I have the old blower motor rebuilt or is it not worth it??

Check out Grainger. I know the dayton fans for our pc45s are very cheap. I thought was around $50 and you would probably get charged about that for the hourly bill.

For $75 buy a spare from Grainger.

Funny - my P68's blower is loud as well - but it does go quiet after about 15 minutes.

How many years on the fan ? Mine was replaced on warranty last year, had leaked out red grease.

Outside of any warranty! Ever remove and clean? Can accumulate a lot of dust bunnies.

Never removed it altogether. Is it pretty simple to remove on a P68?

P series Harman stoves are known for ease of maintenance. Remove rear shields after unplugging stove, only couple bolts holding fan assembly to back of stove. Unplug the power leads. Others can jump in help with other things that should be tended to also.(fines box etc)

very easy to remove....it's probably full of dust.

They are easy to remove. Mine was TOAST. When I got it apart the fan would not spin easy at all. And it did need to be cleaned as well. Another thing to clean after burning a ton of pellets.

I don't think every ton but most certainly after every heating season. We have a couple of big hairy reasons why.

I vac mine out after every ton. I use a brush attachment it works great.
Take it out in the spring when your heating seasons over for the final cleaning. Its an 1/8 allen if I remember right.
