So my flue height is 27.75 off finished hardwood floor.

I need 27.75 off hearth of minimum 0,80 r value

I have 3/4" sub floor and 5/8" flooring for a total of 1-3/8"

The goal is to install a second progress Hybrid with 10" legs and ash pan on this hearth.

Any suggestions to achieve the height issue would be greatly appreciated!
 
Is switching to a telescoping flue pipe off the stove collar an option?

No sir! its a horizontal flue intended to go straight to rear vented stove.
 
That's going to be a challenge. You could use 1/4" Fiberfrax Duraboard LD plus 1/2" Durock Nex Gen. Then a 22ga sheet metal cover to keep the height at less than an inch. The metal could be fancy like stainless or copper. Another option would be removing the sub-floor and notching the joists a bit so that you can rebuild with 3/4 plywood, 2 sheets of 1/2" Durock NexGen, then tile. Or possibly raise the lintel?

a challenge it is! its mainly the flue height since we enjoy the ash pan the short leg kit isn't an option. If i stay with 3/4" sub floor its less work but only allows 5/8" to play with.
 
That's not enough. Call a mason to get a quote for raising the lintel by a brick.

Yes, that is an option! i will need to call a different Mason LOL. Fortunately the brick front is not yet laid on the front of chimney.

The metal idea could work well! I could use the existing 3/4" sub floor. Half inch of micore and even use 1/8" steel over that i would exceed the rvalue and still have ember protection. that would make me flush! I just need to decide on a finish for the steel!
 
Micore is too soft. I think the metal would dent quite a bit without a stiffener under it. The PH is a heavy stove. That's why I suggested a thinner insulating material with a sheet of Durock on top, then the metal.

trying to find r or k values for the fiberfrax. is that a rigid board?
 
found the r value for the 1/4" Fiberfrax Duraboard LD half inch is over 1 so that would work. I'm thinking this and an 11 ga sheet on top may work. i will need to check the "dentability" of 11 ga but I'm thinking it should hold up.
 
Yes, that might work. 10ga is 9/64th thick.
