I'm thinking of making my own hearth pad for a Mt Vernon. Does anyone know what the R and K value requirements are? Will a pad consisting of 3/4" plywood, 1/2" durock and tile suffice?

I found some information on building your own hearth pad here: (broken link removed)

Thanks

With a pellet stove it just needs to be non combustible, so most anything that won't burn will do. What you are doing is more than enough.
