hi all! I’m looking to replace our current wood stove, an early 80s vansco treemont. I found a Hearthstone brand soapstone stove on Craigslist for $400 and I’m wondering if it’s worth that (there is also a 5 hour round trip involved). I though I would post some pics and get you alls much more seasoned (puns!) opinions. Thank you!

If that’s your budget then maybe go buy a new nc30 from Home Depot?
 
Actually, the interior looks quite good, and those parts alone are worth more than 400.00. I'd do it!
 
If I am seeing it correctly the stones on the top are both broken and out of place, like the stove has been dropped. At a minimum you will need to buy a stone kit and do a disassembly and rebuild.
