Hearthstone Manchester for 1800 square foot house?

I am building an 1850 sq. ft. home here in Sandwich, NH. 30x32 main with small upstairs (2 beds, 1 bath), and a 20x20 wing. Mostly open concept with small 12x14 cathedral opening to 2nd floor. I just ordered a Hearthstone Manchester after doing a lot of info searching. I'm technically in Zone 1, but my house will be blown-in fiberglass all around, with low 8 ft eaves. Does anyone think this stove will be too big? Info says it will heat to 2400 sq', but #'s can be misleading. Can't find anyone who has bought this new stove (just came out). I just sold my old house with a Mansfield, but wanted a more old school look this time. I hope my house doesn't turn into a sweat lodge.

For what it's worth, I'm heating a 100 year old 1800 sq-ft home very nicely with a Heritage.

Welcome aboard oldbarn. I think you'll be fine. It's a new stove so we don't have any data on it, but it comes from a good heritage (no pun intended). For your climate you are sized right. You don't need to run the stove with a full load of fuel all the time and with experience you will learn to regulate it to maintain a stove top temp appropriate for the outdoor temps.

Please be sure to take lots of pictures of this beauty and post your thought on running the stove as you get familiar with it. The two very important variables here will be your wood supply and the total flue height. If the wood is dry and the chimney high enough, this should work out very nicely for you. If you don't have a ceiling fan at the top of the cathedral ceiling, I would consider it. Heat will stratify up there without something to get it moving.

BeGreen, the flue is approx 16-18' from thimble to top, I will get a good draft, and I will try the outside air set up for the first time. Manchester will be here in a week, so I will check back in. The house is still getting roughed-in so it's still un-insulated for now. I am putting a ceiling fan above the opening to the sloped 2nd floor. Thanks
