• Remove the existing cast iron damper and enough firebricks to
gain access to the smoke chamber.
We will apply Chamber Safe cerfractory cement to the entire
inside of the smoke chamber until smooth.
Chamber Safe:
• UL Listed (UL 1777. ORD 2505)
• Improves Draft
• Adds Structural Strength
• Resists Temperatures Up to 2500°F
A full firebox rebuild includes removal of the existing firebox and
rebuilding to NFPA 211 standards with new firebrick and high
temperature mortar.

(They did give me a 10% discount, but seems like I’m getting charged twice with fireplace removal… any thoughts?? Metal firebox, and rusted smoke chamber.

Seems like a fair price if the goal is just to have a fireplace. The quote should have had the descriptive text as an opening statement instead of in the quote itself.
