Came across this downed tree in my woods. I'm going to take it no matter what, but it's good to know what I have. Silver maple ?

Hard to see, but my guess is red maple.

The Red seems a little more substantial than Silver. If it's Silver, I use it for kindling.
Silver has shaggier bark, further down the trunk...
 
My hunch is red maple.
 
looks like red maple, but sugar maple doesn't grow on my property.
