Hi; I need Help! I just bought a Heco 420. I bought this to do my cooking and to heat with. It doesn't seem to heat enough to cook well. Is there someone who cooks on a Heco 420 that can help. It took a very long time to just melt butter and cook and egg. ( Cast Iron fry pan) My wood is dry, over year old. I have tried various types of hard wood and mixed in a few pc of dry slabs. I have a new SS chimney with good draw. In the past I have had years of experience cooking on a Kitchen Queen and a Pioneer Maid. I used them for all my cooking and even did my canning on them. This stove is so different. It doesn't seem to get enough heat on top, perhaps because of the baffles. which look permanent. Opening the ash pan door helps, heat it up but it still doesn't get hot enough to cook on top, I will deal with oven another time. The directions are very poor in the manual.
