Both are high +5 flame
This is high +2. On this setting it doesn’t matter your setting. It blasts on high all the time.Ya, there is not near enough flame for manual high. Should be at least twice that. You said on sunflower in really smoked. Can you run on that setting and get flame set to just above diamond? kap
It warms the rooms but there is no controlling it. It just blasts heat. I can put it down to low -5 and it will look the same. Is that a control board thingAnd you can play with it by turning down the heat setting and the flame height settings. kap
Lowing the heat when I go into Sunflower Sed mode? Yes, but it really doesnt matter much. It just blasts even on low -5. How could it be an auger issue? Not putting out enough pellets? How do I troubleshoot that? You dont think it is a control board issue. Could be a auger not putting out enough fuel to produce adequate heat. Ok. I go through a lot of pellets for not much heat. Even when I put good pellets in it didnt put out a lot of heat. Ill look into how to monitor the auger and Ill look at the leads going to it. Do you think I need to update my burn tables? I could take my thermostat to a dealer and see if they can upload new ones if theyre willing. Here in Mass, people wont service your stoves unless you buy it from them. It is odd.Are you also lowering the heat setting at same time? Could be a possible auger issue too
I opened the convection fan for purpose of the pictures to see if anything was wrong. I tested the auger and it seems to be moving clockwise. It is really slow, but I imagine that it is supposed to. I put some pellets in when restarting and a more full pot did lead to much more full flame. Maybe that is the issue. If it is the control board, Ill first take mine out and clean it. Water did get in there when we moved the unit. It was also in a house that had some windows knocked out, so there is some rust around it from the moisture. It feels like the fan, exhaust are working properly.Bell went off in my head last nite. Going back to your pics of stove, the conv. fan is not hooked up. It is hanging open. This could be your issue. kap
I took the control board off today and cleaned all of it with compressed air. I did note some corrosion on one of the leads, but it came off no problem. The fan only runs high either when it is on Sunflower Seed mode and it is just screaming all the time no matter how hot is it, or when it is on high for a long time and it is warmed up. Otherwise, it doesnt blow hot or fast.clean your contacts on the control board with a pencil eraser
