Help with tree ID

My BIL sent me these pics inquiring about tree ID & since my ID skills are questionable at best I thought I would inquire here. I have not personally seen the trees ( not that it would make much difference). From what I have looked up the leaves look like black ash

I'd say Black or Green Ash

Probably green ash (F. pennsylvanica). Its leaf scar is roundly indented (smile), while leaf scar of white ash (F. americana) is straight across.
