Thanks. Good to have verification that a dumb as a stump, hard drinking, cig smoking Liberal doesn't have to pay Harvard tuition to make a good living and enjoy sex for a long time. ==c

I could have just told them most of that and saved them a whole lot of trouble, time, and money.

Empirical evidence is always good ;)

Of course as I mother of a man-in-training I now feel hella pressure, plus regret for the things I've screwed up. A list as long as my arm.

There's no real handbook for parenting. You are on your own 95% of the time. Don't fret too much. He may end up a bit ornery and independent, but it has worked out ok for his mom so far. ;) If he ends up a compassionate and happy human being you have done well, even if he doesn't agree with you all the time.

Life is too short for regret and you can't change the past.
I have my own list locked away in the deep nooks and crannies of my memory banks, and I think I'll keep it there.
Shoulda, coulda, woulda. Bah.

It's ok. He'll be prepared for the next woman in his life.

I could have summarized that whole article in one sentence. "A man is happy when his basic needs are met". Very simple.
