Installed a new Hearth Extension and the thinset product doesn't specify time before heat cycling.

Any suggestions how long to wait? Ideally from personal experience? Most specify time before submerging but not heating.

Installed new tile last Saturday, stove arrives Thursday.

24-28 hours is good for most thinset, if you can walk on it it’s good to go 👍🏼

It’s a floor you tiled right? Mine does not get too warm right in front of the stove.

I’d send it 🤙🏻

Floor under my jotul f400 does not get higher than 90F, The fire resistant carpet about 12"-16" in front of the door glass gets the hottest. It tested 125F yesterday after running 24/7 for weeks.

My dog lying on that spot tested 142F last year.

That's pretty hot. What stove or insert is this for? Got a picture or two?

Is the hearth insulated from combustibles underneath?

It's a Regency Hi500. Hearth is Slate tile on top, 1/2" durock, 1" of Micore 300 and a 3/4" sheet of plywood. Below the plywood is the original concrete hearth.

I haven't done the wood trim yet around the extension but ill post some photos. I can say as stove temp drops during the burn, the extension temps drop with it, doesn't seem to be holding heat.

Thanks for the detailed shots. This illustrates the value of following the hearth insulation recommendation by the manufacturer.

The temp definitely gave me pause I did overshoot their R value minimum a bit so I was hoping to be in the clear no matter what.

I am curious, the sweep who did the install was very new to this model(despite selling Regency specifically). I wonder if it's possible to install the blower upside down and so its blowing the heat more directly on the extension? Not sure.

Don't think so, my Enviro stove's secondary tubes have glowed red with normal stove top burn temps (400-650 deg). Nice looking insert, stay warm...

Looks like the cat behind the flame shield is glowing. If so, that's normal.
