How often do you perform a deep cleaning of your metallic combustor( Taking out, boiling in vinegar and distilled water, etc )?

How often do you perform a deep cleaning of your combustor( Taking out, boiling in vinegar and distilled water, etc )?
I did it last year, burning 24/7 for four months each year. It's a metal one. I think if should do it again before the season starts.
 
I think I do it once a year. For me, it seems to be the shoulder season in the spring that creates problems but at the same time
I don't engage the cat at that time. I give it the douche in the summer unless some weirdness happens and it gets clogged in the winter and feel that a better cleanse is needed.
 
Woodstock recommends spraying the cat once per year with a 50/50 distilled water/vinegar then rinsing with distilled water. I don’t think there’s a need to boil unless there’s some serious build up.

During the burning season it’s a good idea to inspect, brush or vacuum the cat about every cord of wood burned.

You don’t engage the cat during the shoulder seasons? That’s when the cat burn shines.
