How's this for trivial? Looking for a little screw for Defiant Encore.

Defiant Encore 0028. I had to take off the bottom heat shield, which is held in place by 4 small cap screws. Come time to put it back on, and one is missing. Rats and darn!!
So I installed 2 of the remaining 3, enough to hold it up, and took the 3rd screw to Home Depot, where they have a set of big wide drawers containing lots of different kinds and sizes of screws and bolts. But I couldn't find the one I want.
My question is - does anyone know the specs on that screw? #6? #8? I would bet it's "fine" thread
Hoping that if someone knows for sure, then I could hunt online. Just relying on a visual won't work.

Most hardware or auto parts stores will have a display board with holes containing various thread pitches and diameters. That’s the quickest way to match what you have.

Looks like 1/4-20 (coarse) to me. But I would think you would have seen that at HD. Try a hardware store. Find a 1/4 nut and run that bolt through. see if it fits. If not try a metric nut, I don't see how it could be metric though..
