Husky 142 What happened?????????????????

So I'm using this saw and going real good.
Shut it down all done for now.
Went to restart it and can't pull cord???
I took spark plug out and tried again ... no go??
Took starter off saw it turns no problem??
Clean every thing up and reinstalled still no go????
Any idea's??

Sounds like it now a one piece engine.
Remove the exhaut and see if you can wiggle the piston at all. You may even see damage at that point.
If you do get it turn over again I would definately tear it down anyways to be safe. there may be a chunk of pist floating around the bottom end.

The muffler has two t-25 screws deep. Removed them and muffler can off no problem. Piston to low to see.
The clutch needs this special tool:msp_sneaky: so I got a pair of needle nose pliers and turned it the way it says on clutch and it mooved ..hmmm that moved to easy:msp_unsure: pulled starter rope and it moved:clap: Put the muffler back on. Put the plug back in. Started right up!!:blob2::rock: So it would seem that something got behind clutch. Cleaning will be done tomorrow!
I'm learning to be more patient :msp_smile: in the old days I would of just yanked it so hard some thing would of broke!

Keep an eye on those muffler screws now that you've disturbed them. They have a habit of loosening up, creating an exhaust leak, and frying an otherwise healthy saw.

YES ! I have had mufflers come loose a lot I use high heat locktite and it works wonders for keeping them tight.

Just make sure it's high heat loctite. Regular blue/red will most likely loosen up from the normal exhaust heat.
