I got bugs in my wood

I hear a scraping sound when I'm adding to the woodpile. It sounds like bugs to me, but I don't know anything about bugs. The sounds come mostly from smaller sticks, I don't want them migrating to my bigger splits. Is there some kind of a fogger I can use to kill the insects that won't kill me when I burn it in my old school Orley?

Don't know what type of wood you've got or what type of bugs . . . but in warmer weather I can hear bugs munching away on my eastern white pine. I don't mind 'em though. Once colder weather sets in they'll burn just fine . . . have never had an issue with bugs in the house due to the firewood.

I get this too. If I crack open a split during the winter, sometimes there's black ants in there. So long as you don't let the wood warm up in the house before it goes in the stove, they shouldn't come out of there and cause any problems.

OK, it sounds like it's no big deal. Next year I'm planning on putting up a solar firewood kiln in my yard to dry out the wood, supposedly it will get up to bug-killing temps there. I can stack some wood outside in a pretty convenient area to feed the stove, so that should work out fine.
