With the pictures it really shows you got a great buy. Too bad about the cat but it appears he never cleaned it either. Probably just did not know how to run the stove properly. His loss; your gain.
Yeah if I had walked away I would have kicked myself for along time. When I went there I was really hoping it was going to be the XL so I could have a backup stove but I can't complain. Seeing how I really don't need it right now I'm highly leaning towards selling it once it's cleaned up, back together, and test fired

Well I finally got around to putting a little bit of the stove back together last night and got the cat back in and the gasket material put around the base of it to seal it up, got the refractory material put back on, put the doors back, checked all the door gaskets and actually had to loosen the door latches on the front door and the ash door because they were to tight. Also performed the dollar bill test on all the doors after adjustment and they are all tight enough that you can't pull it out anywhere around the door. Here are a few pics of the cat going back in and the refractory going back on. I was going to snap a few of the doors back on the stove and the adjustments but the camera died so maybe this weekend I will get them when I regasket the top plate.

Figured I would put an end to this thread and give the final update. I finished putting the stove back together/ had a few burn in fires in it a month ago and it was in beautiful shape. I was hesitant to put it on Craigslist and was talking to a guy at work about how I really didn't want to sell. Well the guy I was talking to has been burning wood all of his life in his smoke dragon and I have been pushing him to get an EPA approved stove for his house telling him how he will burn a lot less wood and to make a long story short he told me after seeing all the photos of what I did and how it looked he wanted it. I helped him hook it up in his house and showed him how to start it and get the cat lit off and he has been thrilled with it. Just about every morning I get an update on how great it's burning and a story on how he wishes he bought a stove like this a long time ago, it feels good to see him so thrilled with it!
