Any ideas when the XXV will be EPA certified? I tried via my states energy rebate and got a big denied. I'm sure by the time it's certified both rebates will be over.

It lists the XXV

Dang, now I need to file an amended return - last I checked, they hadn't extended the tax credit for anything but solar and geothermal.

How come I didn't get an email? I'll bet they only sent it to the guys - LOL

Here is the Harman link that tells you everything you need to know on how to file for the tax credit.

I forgot to post this shoot! The $300 tax credit has been extended!

I received an email about a month ago from Quadra-Fire that my AE qualified
for the $300 tax credit also.....along with a link with everything needed to file for it.
I never registered my stove with them, so they had to get my info from the dealer.

Look at it this way, the refund you get, comes from other taxpayers. Gotta like gummit handouts. BTW, that applies to all EPA certified stoves, not just Hardone.

I think I've missed out on every incentive on any improvement, like when they incentivized thermal windows and hi-efficiency heating systems over the years. I got those things, just always missed the time window. I'd very much like to latch onto this one. My wife volunteered to take out tax documentation over to the preparer today, this is just in time.

Dang - subject to a $500 lifetime credit limit - which I already fulfilled back when I was married and in a different house.

Crap! Just saw this and filed my taxes Saturday. Same old day late and a dollar short. Oh well, I've lost more on less.

After they have run and approved your paperwork (and paid any refund - if applicable), then you can amend your return. Not difficult, just frustrating to go thru all the steps: find the forms needed (online), find your install receipts, fill out the forms most of the way (having to find your initial return to insert the original numbers used), then get to the worksheet that says there is a lifetime max of $500 - and figuring out that you already hit it.

Also, peon stoves like Englander qualify for this credit.

And my wife comes home to say the preparer did our taxes right there during my wife's lunch break, including the form for this credit except I have do locate the invoice for the stove (did I file it in the large binder called "Misc Receipts" or the gargantuan one called "Home Improvement Receipts"? ) This basically pays for the professional tax preparation and a little left over. :)

I 'm surprised more dealers or sales person don't remind purchasers about the incentive..
