I recently moved my8 year old p38+ from living room replaced it with a US Stoves bay window.
I installed the p38 in my sunroom on type 2 stoveboard rated at 1.5 R (thermal floor protector).
I fired it up yesterday and the install is fine, however I am worried about whether the stove board is man enough for the job.
The p38 does direct a lot of heat down, Harman would not provide advice to homeowner on whether the stoveboard is adequate.
I read on the forums searching for "stoveboard" that another user had done this and his hardwood floor under the pad was orange as opposed to yellows color of rest of floor. This the post stated was due to heat.
Has anyone used these two products together?
Will buying another stove pad and putting it on top of existing one increasing R to 3.0 work?
Or do I need a new ceramic hearthpad, on cement board etc.
The install manual isn't clear, it references suitable floor protection, clearances and states 24 gauge sheet metal at a minimum.
