Guys,
Installing a "add on" type wood furnace in a corner in my garage. Small 24" x 36" footprint for the furnace. I want it as close to the wall as possible to save space.

How do I insulate the sheet rock wall so I can get the furnace within just a few inches?
Would you line the sheet rock with brick or what?

You must follow the furnace manual's tested clearances. If the manual lists clearances reduced with a proper wall shield then they can be used per directions.

Also building code my dictate whether your allowed or not allowed to install a solid fuel heater in your garage, check with local authority before proceeding.
