I'm installing a stove in an existing fireplace and will use flexible stainless pipe to line the chimney. I would like to insulate around the pipe to prevent heat loss up the chimney. Can I use unfaced fiberglass to fill the void around the stainless liner?

Yes you want to insulate the liner and no you cant use fiberglass. You need to use a ul listed liner insulation. That can be either ceramic wool that is wrapped around the liner or a mix of vermiculite and cement that is poured in around the liner. But the pour in is not very diy friendly and not the best for use in a fireplace either
